3-D Design 3 is an advanced class where students are expected to be competent in ceramic and sculptural art skills. Students are also required to exhibit self-directed behaviors and work independently, while also maintaining a constructive dialogue with peers and the teacher. The major focus is developing a practice of studio research and visual communication in order to create a body of work that has breadth of skills. Projects challenge creative problem-solving, while also defining goals and deepen each student’s understanding of their work. Students will use sketchbooks to document ideas and plans. There is also a focus on developing communication skills through writing and talking about art.
